When Readers Become Friends

One of my favorite aspects of authoring mysteries is the amazing readers I get to meet. Even better? When we connect to the point of becoming friends - catching a drink, sharing a laugh, commiserating about the ups and downs of our lives.

Blogger Debra Jo Burnette reached out to me on Goodreads after reading my first Cajun Country Mystery, PLANTATION SHUDDERS. We exchanged emails. It turned out she lives in New Orleans. I invited her and her cool husband, who turned out to be a New Orleans PD police officer, to the NOLA book launch party for my second book, BODY ON THE BAYOU, and this, as Bogart says in Casablanca, was the beginning of a beautiful relationship.

Debra Jo wrote this wonderful post for her website, The Room of Required Reading, about how our connection led to her immersion into the wonderful world of cozies and cozy authors. It brought me to tears, so I wanted to share it with you all. Click here to read the post. (Sniff, sniff...)
